If you are a professor in organization theory or organizational design, you may find that it is difficult for your students to make the transition between the theory and its implications in real organizations.  Cases are a good beginning, but can leave a gap.

The OrgCon is an organization theory based, executive validated software program which can help your students better understand the concepts and ideas of organization theory.  The OrgCon begins with some 60 questions about the case or real world organization to create a database.  Answering the questions themselves illustrates concepts, how they are measured and how they are operationalized in a real situation.  Then, the OrgCon will diagnose the organization to identify misfits among contingency elements and between contingencies and the organizational design and characteristics.  Again, the OrgCon diagnosis is theory based.  From there, recommendations from the theory are given for the particular case situation.  In the process, your student is guided by a theory based diagnostic and recommendation tool which helps the student appreciate and understand the theory and its application.

The OrgCon enhances the classroom lecture, discussion and case analysis; it does not replace it.
