If you are a consultant, the OrgCon can help you understand and diagnose your client’s problems as well as suggest possible courses of action. It is an analytical tool to help you.
In about 70 minutes, you can get setup and make an initial assessment of your client’s situation. The OrgCon will guide you through some 60 questions about your client’s strategy and environment, its organizational structure and characteristics, its climate, its work processes and IT, its incentive structure and its leadership style. The OrgCon will then identify any misfits among these elements and suggest possible courses of action.
This is a beginning; most real world problems are quite complex involving the examination of multi staged solutions over time. The OrgCon guides you through a misfit identification and resolution process for a dynamic and longer run solution.
In brief, the OrgCon helps you identify problems and issues as misfits and what can be done about them. It is an action oriented tool. Yet, there remains much to do in adapting the solutions to the particular organization and understanding the difficulties of implementation and the gains as well. OrgCon is supported by two books published by Springer and Cambridge University Press.
